Join other Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) participants for a free, virtual check-in for BIPOC persons who participate in any of The Bridge Project's Anti-Racism trainings and workshops. Facilitated by Cherie Hill and Bhumi Patel, this space provides BIPOC participants the opportunity to informally reflect and discuss experiences related to anti-racism in dance and to casually interact.

FREE to attend. Folks are invited to attend one or both of the sessions.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
Cherie Hill is a choreographer, dancer, teacher, and scholar whose art explores human expression and how it is conveyed through the body in collaboration with nature, music, and visual imagery. With her dance company, IrieDance, Cherie has held artist residencies with Footloose Productions, Milk Bar Richmond, the David Brower Center, and CounterPulse’s Performing Diaspora Residency Program. As a performer, she has worked with Bay Area Repertory Dance, Makomba West African Drum & Dance, David Dorfman, Kiandanda Dance, & Helander Dance Theater. Cherie is currently the Director of Art in Community for Hope Mohr Dance/The Bridge Project and Co-President of the CA Dance Education Association.
Bhumi B Patel is the queer, desi Artistic Director of pateldanceworks (she/they, please) creating work at the intersection of embodied research and activism. Her work involves dancing, choreographing, curating, educating, writing, and scholarship as a pursuit for liberation, with the time and space to decolonize the body. Bhumi is a member of Dancing Around Race and has been published in the San Francisco Chronicle, Contact Quarterly, Life as a Modern Dancer, and InDance. www.pateldanceworks.org
